Wado Aiwakai

The Wado Aiwakai Karate-do Federation was founded in 1989 by Kuniaki Sakagami, 8th Dan who has been teaching Wado Ryu Karate in England since 1970. Aiwakai is directly affiliated to the English Karate Federation (EKF), which is the Governing Body for Karate in England recognised by the British and World Karate Federations and the International Olympic Commiittee (IOC).

Aiwakai is also a founding member of the Wadokai England Karate-do Federation (WKE) which is a subsidiary group belonging to Aiwakai. The Aiwakai are full members of the English Karate Federation (EKF). Aiwakai is also affiliated to Federation European Wadokai (FEW) and Japan Karate-do Federation Wadokai (JKF Wadokai) which helps oversee the practice of Wadokai Karate throughout the world. This means that all Dan grades are validated by the Federation European Wadokai (FEW) and the Japan Karate-do Federation Wadokai (JKF Wadokai).

Aiwakai host regular Training Camps, Technical Courses, Dan Grade Courses and Competitions throughout the year. These are held nationally and are open to all Aiwakai members and friends.
